For fifteen years, the talented dressage rider Filipe Fernandes has been part of Europe's most popular horse show, now with his own Friesian team. The majestic black horses are indisputably among the audience's favourites at CAVALLUNA. They captivate the people within seconds with their beautiful gaits, their impressive manes and their black, shiny coats. Many a spectator's breath is taken away when the team enters the arena in perfect formation and presents elegant quadrilles with the most difficult dressage lessons.
The Riding Team at CAVALLUNA
Filipe first appeared in CAVALLUNA in 2008, but after a few years he swapped the white Lusitanos for black Friesians and founded his own equipe. In the show, the talented team now presents difficult lessons such as half-passes and piaffes as well as beautiful quadrilles in complete harmony.
The friendly Portuguese grew up near Lisbon, not far from the riding school of Luís Valença - an old master of classical dressage. Filipe discovered his passion for this riding style at a young age and completed his training with the old master himself. In addition to his great success at CAVALLUNA, Filipe can also look back on numerous triumphs in competition sport and has been a successful trainer and rider himself for many years.
